New Pattern!

Well, after working tirelessly to try and spew out a ladybug bodysuit pattern, I have successfully [I think] come up with a basic design and have thus created, a Fox Suit :)

The pattern is available for sale off of my Ravelry site -> http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fox-suit---pdf-pattern?buy=1  Wish I had a newborn to take pictures of right now lol  Finished product is also available for sale, check out my facebook page for more information -> http://www.facebook.com/pages/Lets-Play-Pretend/191739374189455 .

In other news, theres been many more developments on my missing Canon Rebel that I had mailed out to me.  I had it sent to my old apartment address and so far no one there claims to have seen it.  Although I've just learned that the top apartment which I thought was still unoccupied in fact has an occupant.  And after rechecking the tracking number on Canada Post, they've sent it to somewhere in Welland, which I'm hoping is the original sender's abode.  As long as no one has stolen my camera and its not broken, I could really care less right now what happens...I will pay for shipping and handling again if I have to, I. Just. Want. My. CAMERA! lol  I love my lil digital point and shoot, but its time to move on.

Anyhoo...we went to Port Dalhousie a couple of weekends ago.  When my daughter was born, we took her out there and took a quick snap shot of her infront of the sunset.

Now that the weather is nicer, we just HAD to bring her out there again.  I can't believe how much my baby girl is grown...

Anyhoo, thats all for today...I'm off to go work on some orders now :)  Take care everyone!

April...with it's high highs...and low lows...

I'm having a low low day today...depressing, no?  I'm trying to stay positive...but I know I'm going to be very very snippy today.  I'm worried sick about a camera I bought on ebay this week, I had it accidentally delivered to the wrong address and now its floating around somewhere in mail-space.  Emails are so much easier...I don't like this ancient snail-mail technology!

Anyhoo...so I just finished editing a photo or two...and have to do a mini photoshoot later with Shyna so I can post some new pics on LPP's many websites :)  Maybe that will get me into a better mood.

Just refound these shots:

The hubster got out his guitar on my birthday morning and was playing and Shyna kept staring at him...so OFCOURSE we had to see what she'd do for her first guitar lesson :)  Naturally you're supposed to eat the guitar the first time!  She's such a good baby...I love the blurry shot of her where she's got this cocky expression on her face.

The other little set of photos I have is from the other day, my sister, mom and I went out for a quick birthday din din [my moms] at Wendy's.  I had just made Shyna a new hat and was showing it off and got some cute shots <3

God she's getting so big.  My lil monkey <3  The first shot was in the car on the way to Wendy's...she knows what a camera is and knows how it irks me when she doesn't cooperate lol.  If she knows this now then imagine what she's going to be like when she's older!

Anyhoo...that's it for now...I'm going to possibly try posting a pattern later on today for the bunny shell thing that I did a couple weeks ago.  I successfully made the ladybug one, just waiting for the client to pick it up and find out if I made it size appropriate or not lol

Til next time!

Trying out a new pattern...

HA!...I have amazed even myself with my mediocre crochet skills.  Remember this link I posted yesterday?
http://www.etsy.com/listing/60482859/lady-bug-body-hat?ref=af_you_favitem  well guess who thinks she made it up just fine?!?!  lol  I didn't even have a picture, I just made it from memory!...only thing I got really really wrong was the position of the hat, I have everything facing forward instead of to the side like she does.  I might have also made the back of the neck part a little too big, but I can fix all of that :)

I just can't believe I actually got it.  Now the only thing I'm worried about are the measurements, I might have made mine a tad too wide...I'm thinking it will be about 7 inches when laid out on baby...the sides curve in somewhat so I'm not too sure yet.  The bottom of the hat/cape curves around baby's bottom too...[hopefully...] I made the measurement from the nape of the neck quite long as well.  *sigh*  I guess we'll find out if everything works!

Just wish yet again Ihad started doing all this when Shyna was born, I'd have a better eye for measurements :)  Anyhoo...here are the very unprofessional photos I took of my work...I love how I always have to post a professional's photographs first and then throw my amateur work in there.

And after relooking at my photos...I'm pretty sure I made the neck waaaaay too big.  Ah well...live and learn :)  I'm really really tired...I haven't been sleeping much in the past few days so I hope this isn't one big long ramble...

Good morning...

Just a quick shout out to my new followers!  HI!  I apologize for the late acknowledgement but I'm kind of horrible when it comes to replying to comments and such right away lol  As soon as I log onto the computer each day, I have a 'to-do' checklist but get so easily distracted I could stay on here for hours and remember as I'm shutting the computer down that I was supposed to do a bunch of other things.

Oop...I smell something poopy coming from my daughter...lol  I love how babies suddenly quiet down and sit and concentrate when they have to do their business.  Alright...let me go get suited up and we'll deal with this mess!

And we're back after an outfit change...a rechange of diaper when Shyna decided she needed to pee over everything...and another clothing change for her when she realized, hey! that stuff is warm...and practically rolled around in it.

Currently at my mom's place right now, my hubster had to work way out of town and ended up having to stay at a hotel.  My gosh was last night weird, I don't remember the last time I've had to sleep alone...I'm just glad my mom let me stay over here, it would've been really hard alone at home.  Today until the hubster gets home, my grandparents are taking Shyna and me out all day...we're due to go to a greasy spoon for breaky in a half hour or so :)

Currently feeling swamped with orders [but that's a good thing] and stayed up until 3 this morning trying to get some more hats done...and have also decided to take on a new project and try to design my own version of this for a client -> http://www.etsy.com/listing/60482859/lady-bug-body-hat?ref=af_you_favitem  Is that not the cutest thing you have ever seen???  I've got a basic idea as to how I'm going to do it, but time will tell ultimately if I succeed!  *insert dramatic music here*

Well now...because of my slow typing and intermediate mommy multi tasking skills, a half hour has passed by already after the typing of a paragraph and a half.  I guess it's time for the munchkin and I to pack up our truckload of overnight supplies [I kid you not...this isn't just me right?  every mom travels around with a huge amount of baby supplies?  and believe you me, I only brought the very basics!]...and get ready to head out with my grandparents of awesomeness.

Until next time fellow bloggers!

New Hats of Randomness and New Ideas Brewing...

And here we go again!  So, I randomly tried making my own Lion Hat...I have been getting comments that she looks like a gremlin, or a yoda with hair.  I like it still though :)  Let me know what you think of Shyna in her lion get up.

I like the last picture the best, looks like she's holding up her head with pride, about to roar.  She mimicked my roars once or twice and did little random hisses, it was so cute, one of the best photo shoots I've had with her in awhile.

I realize that the yarn color isn't exactly 'liony', I should've used a more tan brown for the main body of the hat, but I think I've got something here :)  I need to change up the ears too...they're just too pointy.  Once I've finalized these small lil details I'll definitely write up the pattern to share!

Other interesting thing that happened today was laundry!...okay no, it was actually really boring, I HATE doing laundry...but I managed to jazz up my laundry session...

I brought her upstairs in the basket because she was getting a little cranky and I wanted to see if she would fall asleep in it or not...and ofcourse she did lol  It was so sweet, I made sure she had some clothes blanketing the backs and side of her head, and ofcourse the little monkey decided she didn't care about the comfort and let her head fall flat forward and dozed that way.  She's so silly!  She does that when she goes to bed at night too, pulls the covers up to her face so you can only see her forehead...silly silly silly.  I enjoy having the covers pulled right up too...but I also enjoy this little thing called breathing.

Ah well.  Last but not least today I took some more random shots after I was done taking some photos of hats that are for sale.  My Mother in Law has a potted tree with funky little stones at the bottom so I decided to try and do some neat little shots...

I call the first one Good Vs Evil [LAWL ;)] and the second one...well...I just have this weird lil tendency to put my engagement ring in the randomest of places and taking pics of it.

Alright!  Done blabbering on...my hubby just gave me my birthday present [which he honestly didn't need to, I hate my birthday!], and now I shall go and cuddle it and eventually post pictures, Nightmare Before Christmas awesomeness baby!...

Rainy Day Crochet...

Yes, its a rainy day today...perfect for the April time of year.  After going for a strenuously long walk yesterday, it will be nice to relax my insanely out of shape body today and just sit and crochet.  I've got an idea for a lion hat, have an order for a frog beanie and have a pattern for a random bucket type hat I'd like to throw on my poor unsuspecting daughter :)  There are still pending photos on my camera that need to be put on disk and then thrown up here on the computer with internet access...and last but not least...kijiji must be harassed with bunches and bunches of Lets Play Pretend ads.

Oh my oh my :)

Toopy and Binoo is on...Shyna is slowly fighting a nap...I think now is a perfect time to get the crochet hook out and get started on my mini list for the day!

I hope this was clear enough, if you find any problems with the pattern, please feel free to add corrections and tell me off lol  I'm still learning and would love to get into pattern making if I could.  As I've said before I've found so many great free patterns online that helped me get into crocheting in the first place that I'm just trying to give 'something' back :)

Happy hooking!
